Event Overview

The Art of Senso BJJ Invitational marks the first official tournament hosted by our academy – a celebration of technique, discipline, and community. This event brings together athletes from across the region to test their skills in a professional yet welcoming environment.

Whether you are competing, coaching, or supporting from the sidelines, this event embodies what Art of Senso stands for: excellence, respect, and the pursuit of mastery through Jiu Jitsu.

Divisions

All divisions will follow IBJJF rules and weight categories.
Competitors must weigh in with their Gi (for Gi divisions) or in rashguard and shorts (for No-Gi).

Gi Divisions

• Kids (Under 16): White / Grey / Yellow / Orange / Green Belts

• Juvenile (16–17): White / Blue Belts

• Adult (18+): White / Blue / Purple / Brown / Black Belts

• Masters (30+): White / Blue / Purple / Brown / Black Belts

No-Gi Divisions

• Kids (Under 16): Beginner / Intermediate

• Juvenile / Adult / Masters: Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced

Weight categories follow IBJJF standards for both male and female competitors.

Registration

• Early Bird Entry: £35 (until 15 November 2025 )

• Standard Entry: £45 (until 15 December 2025)

• Spectator Tickets: £10 (available online or on the door)

• Registration closes 15 December 2025

All registrations include free access to the post-event open mat.

Awards

• Custom Art of Senso medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each division

• Best Team Trophy awarded to the academy with the most points

• Performance of the Day award for exceptional technique or sportsmanship

Rules & Conduct

• All matches will be conducted under IBJJF rules.

• Competitors must arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled division.

• All uniforms must be clean, regulation Gi or No-Gi attire.

• Respect for referees, staff, and fellow competitors is expected at all times.

• Unsportsmanlike behaviour may result in disqualification.

Medical & Safety

A qualified first aid and medical team will be present throughout the event. aCompetitors must ensure they are medically fit to compete and will be required to sign a waiver prior to participation.

• On-site changing rooms and showers

• Refreshment bar with drinks and healthy snacks

• Art of Senso merchandise stand (rashguards, t-shirts, and limited edition event wear)

• Free and paid parking available nearby at Hove Business Centre

Professional photographers and videographers will be covering the event. By attending or competing, you consent to the use of your image or likeness in official Art of Senso media and promotional materials.
